Teleport Decapitation Strike
Autarch Uthriel had just concluded her remote viewing audience with the Farseer Council when cascades of sensor warnings indicated some sort of rapid attack was unfolding.
She ordered her remaining security force garrison to assemble without delay, pulling on her helmet get a better read on the tactical map. With full operational control, the Autarch started to move her force towards the source of the signals.
Dark Reaper Exarch Rhylach, having taken an overwatch position in a nearby tower, shared his vid-feed of small units of magenta armored troops picking their way through the ruins. Space Marines! Not Imperial Fists and not the fearsome Deathwatch. These were of a type not known to Uthriel, never before encountered.
Their intent was clearly hostile, and she gave the order to engage at range. Salvoes of missiles poured from the Dark Reaper’s position, destroying support units, and the Wraithlord’s bright lances punched holes through several armored enemies from distance.
The short, sharp battle that followed was a maelstrom of confusion, as the attacking force used sophisticated teleporter technology to dodge incoming assaults, and return with deadly feints and ripostes from above and behind. At the head of the force was a powerful psyker in heavy space marine plate. After he caused serious damage to the Wraithlord and felled several Black Guardians with his witchfire, Uthriel ordered a Falcon full of Fire Dragons down on his position, slaying him with a barrage of grenades.
As the fierce assault ended with heavy losses on both sides, atmospheric crackles accompanied the teleportation exits of the enemy. It was not clear if this had been a victory or defeat as the motivations and objectives of the enemy were completely opaque. What was clear, was that the Craftworld forces had been seriously tested and would have to evolve and adapt their tactics if they were meet such a phantasmal adversary again.
